The word is “experiencing”

Got a note from Danny on my last post, looking for bloggers who have experienced a bereavement.  Have I experienced a bereavement?  Is that the question?  Doesn’t that imply that there will, eventually, be an end to this experience of loss, in order to put it in the past tense?  At some point will I no longer be bereaved?  Let’s put it right out there:  Is my sweetheart going to be returned to me?  And then I will have experiencED a bereavement, but can happily say “Got bettah”?

Thought not.  Guess this is not the writer he’s looking for.  Move along.  Move along.
